My trip with Jerry to the beach!

So, Jerry and I took his kids (Tory & Sean) and Tory's girlfriend, Kim, to Rehoboth Beach for 2 1/2 days. We had a blast! The weather was great, although the ocean was a bit choppy on Saturday and apparently someone drowned (we saw the search boats and helicopters searching the water and heard the next day the man was found at 11:00pm).

Here's Jerry when we arrived at the beach. It was breezy and a bit overcast, but it cleared up nice by the afternoon.

Here's Tory's girlfriend, Kim. She's a real sweetheart.

Here's Sean saying everything is a-okay on the beach today.

And here Sean is learning the finer points of sand castle building from Jerry.

And here's Tory... his face might look odd, but that's
just because he put a sticker he got from the boardwalk
on his cheek!

The ocean was a bit wild that day and so we were trying to
keep our space safe. Alot of folks were building walls and moats to
keep out the approaching water (it wasn't even high tide yet!)
Here Kim, Tory & Sean are working hard at our wall and moat.

Here's a seagull sneaking a bite of food. The woman in the back
with the shovel was in charge of the moat and wall-building efforts.
She organized several of us to build long walls and moats and connect them.

Kim and Tory are working hard... will it be enough to protect us?

Uh-oh... this pic is taken at my feet while I sat in the chair...
looks like the water is trying to get to us...
but our wall and moat hold!!

Oh no! The folks next to us got wiped out!

As you can see, some folks' walls didn't hold.

This is the wave that did us in. We never planned for
a from-the-back attack. The water went past us and then
circled back and flooded our area with about 2 inches of water.
We packed it in shortly after that. Notice in this pic that the
water reached all the way to the boardwalk! And it wasn't high tide!
Here are a few pics of the waves:

And no, there are no pics of me because I was manning the camera and I never relinquished it! Oh well. Sorry!
